No. 8 Farm Tours was established by Andy and Sarah Somerville. Andy, the son of a farmer, grew up on a 16,000-acre hill country station in the Wairarapa region, running sheep, beef and goats. He is passionate about the rural culture of New Zealand and, through his farm tours, wants others to share in experiencing the lifestyle of farming Kiwis and the beautiful locations in which they live and work.

Each farm visited by No. 8 Farm Tours has a unique and interesting history, related to visitors by Andy and father-in-law Ian Calvert with passion and enthusiasm.  ‘We’ll see you right’ and help you to develop an understanding of the importance of the agricultural industry to the economy of New Zealand and a respect for the Kiwi men and women who have built the industry into a world leader.

As a guest on a No. 8 Farm Tour, you will be privileged to meets some of the Bay of Plenty’s finest farming operations.  The following pages introduce some of the characters that run the farms we visit on our tours – a cow cocky, a sheep and beef farmer and a deer farmer.
